The ultrasonic sensors, using an advanced, omni-directional Doppler principle, works by bouncing ultrasonic sound waves off objects in a space whick then measures the time it takes for the waves to return. Move-ment by a person in the space causes the sound waves to bounce back at a different frequency, resulting in a Doppler shift and occupancy detection.
